Im Rahmen der Sportentwicklungshilfe wurde der Deutsche Schachbund um Unterstützung gefragt, Malawi Schachmaterial zukommen zu lassen, um den dortigen Spielbetrieb zu gewährleisten. Das Auswärtige Amt hat über die deutsche Botschaft vor Ort mitgeholfen. Nun ist die Spende angekommen. Die Schachförderation Malawis bedankt sich in folgendem Wortlaut:I am very delighted to let you know that yesterday, 7th Feb 2006 was a very colourful chess day in Malawi. The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany presented to the Malawi Chess Association 30 Chess Clocks, 50 beautiful Chess Boards, 5 demo boards and 10 English Chess Books. We are very greatful to the German Government for this gesture. The Minister of Youth Sports and Culture , Hon Jaffalie Musa, MP received the equipment on behalf of the Malawi Chess from the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Albert Joseph Gisy. We wish the people of the federal republic of German prosperity and peace.KEZZIE MSUKWA
